The National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) has piloted this cluster model of a biogas plant at Zakariyapura, Gujarat. In this model, the raw biogas generated is used by the households for cooking. As for the slurry incurred, it is separated into solid and liquid components and used for manufacturing different products including bio-fertilizer.
The compressed biogas (CBG) plant situated in Nauranagbad village, Gandikhata of Haridwar District in Uttarakhand is a successful business model that other gaushalas (cow shelters) in the region can replicate. It is managed by Shri Krishnayan Desi Gauraksha and Golok Dham Seva Samiti.
