Increased access to household toilets has led to the improvement in the convenience, safety and self-respect of women in rural India, according to a study carried out by UNICEF and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
To generate massive mobilisation of citizens in rural areas and create mass awareness on ODF Plus as well as its solid and liquid waste management centric components, the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) under Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen Phase II has launched a National Film Competition on ODF Plus.
