TN’s Mobile App monitors, evaluates ODF Plus activities
Intensive and sustained Inter-Personal Communication (IPC) activities by Swachhagrahis have helped in achieving ODF (open defecation free) status under Phase I of Swachh Bharat Mission Grameen (SBM-G). In Phase II of SBM-G, to give a major thrust to ODF Plus activities, the ‘Thooimai Thamizhagam’ Mobile Application was developed in collaboration with National Informatics Centre (NIC), Chennai.
Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti observed World Toilet Day 2020 with a Sarpanch Samvad – a virtual dialogue with Sarpanchs of ODF Plus villages; and a Puruskar Samaroh - distribution of awards to top 20 districts for overall performance in SBM-G.

In a major step towards achieving ODF Plus status, Punjab has embarked on a unique initiative titled, Chalo Sanjhe Pakhane Banaiye, meaning ‘Let us construct community sanitary complexes.’ The 21-day campaign that began on 7th November will end on 28th November 2020.
