Children to be agents of change in handwashing
‘Catch them young’ is the phrase that best describes the focus of the Global Handwashing Day campaign observed with much enthusiasm across Punjab, on 15th October 2020. The aim was to instill in children a keenness for washing hands frequently with soap and water to prevent the spread of infection.
Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti observed World Toilet Day 2020 with a Sarpanch Samvad – a virtual dialogue with Sarpanchs of ODF Plus villages; and a Puruskar Samaroh - distribution of awards to top 20 districts for overall performance in SBM-G.
- Community Engagement, Sustainability
In a major step towards achieving ODF Plus status, Punjab has embarked on a unique initiative titled, Chalo Sanjhe Pakhane Banaiye, meaning ‘Let us construct community sanitary complexes.’ The 21-day campaign that began on 7th November will end on 28th November 2020.
