Month-long MHM campaign in Simdega
Period poverty is the lack of access to sanitary products, menstrual hygiene education, toilets, handwashing facilities, and waste management. To address this issue, the district administration of Simdega in Jharkhand has commenced a month-long Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) campaign to break harmful taboos about menstruation, provide education and promote safe sanitation.
Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti observed World Toilet Day 2020 with a Sarpanch Samvad – a virtual dialogue with Sarpanchs of ODF Plus villages; and a Puruskar Samaroh - distribution of awards to top 20 districts for overall performance in SBM-G.

In a major step towards achieving ODF Plus status, Punjab has embarked on a unique initiative titled, Chalo Sanjhe Pakhane Banaiye, meaning ‘Let us construct community sanitary complexes.’ The 21-day campaign that began on 7th November will end on 28th November 2020.
